About Us: 

Melapop is a space for those who long for representation in the beauty industry. It’s a space created solely with creativity and education in mind and fills a gap addressed by no other beauty store in the US. We’re building a space where brown beauty is celebrated and innovation is recognized. We believe in the inclusion and empowerment of minorities of color Melapop is interested in likeminded individuals who can help us make our idea, space, and community bigger.

We are currently looking for social media and public relation interns to work with one of our brand Melapop USA, INC. a newly launched "brown beauty" cosmetic and innovation hub.

Responsibilities + Duties

Both our social media and PR interns will work closely with the PR and Social media managers at Beaute LUX and Melapop, USA.

The primary duties for our interns include:

• Development of Press Releases

• Pitching to Various Brands and Magazines

• Social Media Management

• maintaining social and blog content

• Tracking and analysis of social media conversations across various platforms, maintenances of our brands’ social media sites and reputation management.

• Influencer Marketing

• List Building

• develops social media content. This includes video content.

• Organically grow social accounts brands

Intern Requirements, Qualifications, and Skills

• MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR WEEKLY VIRTUAL MEETINGS ONCE WEEKLY

• Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms

• Flexible work schedule - This is a remote position Those located in Houston are preferred but the application is open to everyone. Press Passes and Travel will be issued and Paid for if necessary. (events such as BeautyCon, Essence Festival, esthetician conference, etc..)

• Must be able to work independently

• Experience with content creation a plus, even if not professionally

• Graphic design experience a Plus

• Knowledge of Social media platforms and campaign strategy

• Ability to grow and maintain relationships within the industry
